About Lyttleton Street

About Lyttleton Street UMCWelcome to Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church! We are excited to share with you what God is doing through our church in Camden, South Carolina. We are a passionate church that seeks to share the love of Christ’s family and unite together in a journey with God. Our doors are wide open, and we hope that you will come experience our hospitality.

Our church is well-grounded in the past, and we will never forget our roots. Lyttleton Street traces its beginning in the community all the way back to April 5, 1787 when the first formal Methodist service was held in Camden. Lyttleton Street has a rich heritage full of involvement in the local community since that time, and still worships in a historic sanctuary dedicated in 1798. Services remain traditional, and we worship God in a rich musical and liturgical tradition.

However, Lyttleton Street is not just about the past. We are devoted to serving God in the present and moving with God into the future. We recognize that life is a journey and we are all travelers. As life changes, Lyttleton Street has expanded ministry opportunities from Habitat for Humanity to WARM (Weatherization and Repair Ministries). We will find a way for you to help change lives, be it locally or abroad.

We invite you to come worship with us on Sundays.

In the meantime, you will find a number of resources on this website to help you learn more about our church. Learn more about our Children’s Ministry, our Youth Ministry, missions, or simply see what is happening in our church. We believe in open hearts, open doors, and open minds for Jesus Christ.
